The drying of products in the fine-chemicals or pharmaceutical industry frequently require the application of gentle and effective methods. The stationary mixer dryer with helix mixer is able to combine these properties to produce an excellent cost/benefit ratio. Beyond this, it can also be used as a mixer on its own.
Mode of operation:
The bottom part of the equipment is a conical vessel which takes up the product to be dried. The cover of the vessel is hinged and can be completely folded back in upward direction. A helix mixer is integrated in the cover. This ensures an effective and, at the same time, gentle drying of the product. The vessel can be heated for heat exchange and is of a vacuum tight design. Consequently, it possible to use a ll advantages of vacuum drying at low temperatures and with high efficiency.
Advantages:
- Cleaning and inspection can be ideally carried out. The hinged vessel cover can be folded back completely in upward direction. The helix mixer is designed with a direct drive and requires just a shaft seal. All seals are freely accessible and can be fully inspected when the equipment is open. CIP nozzles permit perfect cleaning of the equipment.
- Service and maintenance are simplified because the equipment has such a simple design. There is an opening for the shaft and the moving parts are freely accessible. The sealing of the shaft can be carried out without removing the drive of the mixer.
- Product contamination is avoided. The equipment is of a vacuum tight design. A filter system ensures that no product can reach the outside via the vapor off-take. The shaft seal is positioned outside of the product area and can therefore operate trouble-free. If required, the equipment can be fitted with a gas-sealed mechanical seal which consequently operates completely wear-free.
System design:
All required peripheral equipment such as vacuum, heating, cleaning and solids handling systems are of modular design. This enables a reduction in energy costs, reduces installation times, shortens commissioning times and minimizes risk.
